CDC conference seeks to link community wealth builders

The National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations (NACEDA) is a national alliance of state and regional community development associations representing over 4,000 community development corporations and community groups.  NACEDA will be hold its fifth annual summit on May 23-25 in Washington DC. Early registration deadline is May 5th. On line registration is available here.  One highlight of the conference is a plenary session that is designed to link CDCs with other community wealth builders, including both community land trusts and cooperatives.  The conference will also mark the first conference of NACEDA held under the leadership of executive director Sam Yoon, who previously (2005-2009) served as a member of the Boston City Council.

Among the speakers featured at the conference are:
Harold Simon, Executive Director of the National Housing Institute, publisher of the community economic development journal Shelterforce;
Roger Lewis, Executive Director of the National Community Land Trust Network;
Adam Schwartz, Vice President of Public Affairs and Member Services for the National Cooperative Business Association; and
David Entin, a member of the Board of Directors for the Cohousing Association of the United States.
