Established in 1978, Del Norte Community Development Corporation aims to create and preserve housing and other opportunities for underserved households, including those that are low and moderate income, Spanish-speaking, or with special needs. In 2013 alone, the organization provided free home-buying workshops to over 150 people and one-on-one foreclosure prevention counseling to 275 households. In 2014, the CDC completed Avondale Apartments—one of the first LEED Gold apartment buildings for low-income Denver families—which includes 80 affordable rental units on a previously blighted lot.
