Erika Poethig, Solomon Greene, Christina Stacy, Tanaya Srini and Brady Meixell

This report from the Urban Institute assesses the relationship between economic recovery and inclusion, finding that cities that ranked high when it comes to economic and racial inclusion performed better economically while recovering from distress. The report analyzes 274 US cities across indices related to economic health, overall inclusion, and racial inclusion, and then provides lessons learned from four cities advancing inclusion: Columbus, Ohio; Lowell, Massachusetts; Louisville, Kentucky; and Midland, Texas.
