The OSU Extension-Franklin County is an outreach arm of The Ohio State University. The OSU Extension system started in 1862 to provide education to citizens in agricultural and mechanical fields. The Franklin County Extension focuses on community development, horticulture, and youth development in the Franklin County area. In 2010, a volunteer middle management program was implemented to help residents lead community programs with access to volunteer consultants and 30 trained advisers.
