Pittsburgh Foundation

Founded in 1945, the Pittsburgh Foundation is the 14th largest community foundation in the country with more than 1,900 individual donor funds and assets of over $1 billion. It also has its own grantmaking program that focuses on fostering sustainable communities, defined as places that seamlessly integrate economic, social equity, and environmental goals to enhance residents’ quality of life. In 2013, the Foundation distributed nearly $29 million in grants to nonprofits in the Pittsburgh region.
