With its first location opening in Lakewood, WA in 1971, RAM Restaurant & Brewery now operates 31 restaurants—including C.I. Shenanigans in Tacoma—across 6 states. Recognizing the success of other ESOP companies, the restaurant group transitioned to employee ownership in 2014. It currently has about 2,000 worker-owners.
