In the United States, we are facing a housing insecurity crisis. More than 600,000 people are homeless, and nearly 19 million families are struggling to keep a roof over their heads. Eliminating housing insecurity requires strengthening the country’s a ordable housing delivery system. While sound policy at the federal, state, and local level and resources from the public sector as well as supportive private investors, lenders and foundations are critical, an essential core component of increasing the capacity of that system is having strong, capable, mission-driven a ordable housing developers and owners. is paper examines what those strong organizations should look like in order to support and expand the a ordable housing sector.
