Trying to encourage additional private investment and stimulate job creation and retention, the Los Angeles Local Development Corporation is a non-profit that provides loans and capital to small and medium-sized businesses in distressed neighborhoods throughout the greater Los Angeles region. Since its founding in 1980, the group has worked closely with the Mayor’s Office, facilitating or funding over $200 million of financing for businesses and real estate development projects in the city.
