Center for Health Design

The Center for Health Design aims to transform health care settings into healing environments that are better and safer places for patients to heal and health care professionals to work. The current hospital construction boom—projected to be more than $30 billion annually in 2010—provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rethink how hospitals are designed, and especially to consider how improved hospital design can help reduce staff stress and fatigue, increase staff's effectiveness in the delivery of patient care, improve patient safety, reduce patient and family stress, and improve overall health care quality.
