Informed by the Mondragón Worker Cooperative model and social justice movements, Southern Grassroots Economies aims to build democratic ownership in the U.S. South. To support the development of cooperatives and community-based enterprises, the organization, which has played a support role in co-op development in Jackson, Mississippi and elsewhere, includes substantial resource materials on line from the group’s 2012 and 2013 conferences.
