Rocky Mountain Communities

Based in Denver, Rocky Mountain Communities provides affordable housing and supportive services in its eight housing developments across Colorado (four of which are in the Denver metropolitan area).  Founded in 1992, the nonprofit now provides housing to more than 1,300 families.

Archway Housing & Services

Archway Housing & Services (previously Rocky Mountain HDC, Inc.) aims to build healthier communities by providing quality, affordable housing with supportive services to low and moderate income families in Metro Denver.  Since its founding in 1995, the nonprofit has developed 363 units of affordable housing with on-site programs and services for youth and adult residents.  Currently under development is Archway’s 40 West Residence project, which will include 60 affordable units with 25 reserved for homeless veterans.

NEWSED Community Development Corporation

NEWSED Community Development Corporation works to promote holistic social and economic development in disadvantaged, primarily Latino, Denver communities by: securing and coordinating resources for neighborhood revitalization; developing shopping areas and services; fostering minority and neighborhood business ownership, job retention and creation; increasing home ownership and affordable rental opportunities; engaging in neighborhood organizing; and hosting cultural events and activities.  Since its establishment in 1973, the CDC is credited with developing over 650,000 square feet of housing and retail/commercial real estate.

Northeast Denver Housing Center

Northeast Denver Housing Center aims to create sustainable, healthy housing opportunities for underserved households through outreach, education and housing development.  Since its establishment in 1982, NDHC has developed over 800 housing units, provided housing counseling to over 9,500 households, and improved over 300 homes by reducing or eliminating lead poisoning, reducing asthma triggers, and increasing energy efficiency.

Hope Communities

Guided by a mission to create diverse, healthy communities through quality, service-enriched, affordable housing, Hope Communities manages four rental properties in Northeast Denver.  Founded in 1980, Hope Communities now owns 280 affordable rental units for low-income families.

Del Norte Community Development Corporation

Established in 1978, Del Norte Community Development Corporation aims to create and preserve housing and other opportunities for underserved households, including those that are low and moderate income, Spanish-speaking, or with special needs. In 2013 alone, the organization provided free home-buying workshops to over 150 people and one-on-one foreclosure prevention counseling to 275 households.  In 2014, the CDC completed Avondale Apartments—one of the first LEED Gold apartment buildings for low-income Denver families—which includes 80 affordable rental units on a previously blighted lot.

Community Resource Center

Providing training, technical assistance and consultation to community-based organizations in Colorado and across the country, the Community Resource Center, established in 1981, has helped train more than 400 nonprofit leaders and, in 2001, published an online database called Colorado Grants Guide, providing information about funding sources for nonprofits throughout the state. Colorado Coalition for the Homeless

Established in 1984, the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) works to prevent homelessness and to create solutions to stem future homelessness. Based in Denver, CCH currently manages over 1,600 affordable housing units with integrated services, including counseling, life skills training, financial literacy and employment assistance.  The nonprofit serves about 18,000 people a year.

MiraCit Development Corporation, Inc.

MiraCit is a nonprofit community development corporation formed in 1993, focused on the community revitalization of Northeast Columbus. MiraCit generated annual revenue of just under $1.6 million in 2009. Recent projects include the North Central Village construction of a 74-unit senior apartment complex on what used to be a trailer park. The Green View Estates is Columbus’s first eco-friendly neighborhood with 30 single-family homes transformed from an abandoned housing project area. Homes on the Hill Community Development Corporation

Homes on the Hill Community Development Corporation (HOTH) provides affordable housing for low- and moderate-income individuals and families. HOTH has annual revenue of over $570,000, with total assets of over $1.2 million. HOTH was incorporated in 1993 and has developed over 70 housing units, while 16 of them were newly constructed in partnership with Habitat for Humanity in 2005. Franklinton Development Association

The Franklinton Development Association (FDA) is a community development corporation formed to lead the revitalization of the Franklinton neighborhood of Columbus. FDA is comprised of residents, local business owners, area non-profits, and other groups focused on revitalization by creating affordable housing and commercial development for economic growth. With $1.8 million in tax credits for low-income housing, FDA aims to create 100 housing units for low- and moderate-income families. Read more about Franklinton Development Association...

Dayspring Christian Community Development Corporation

The Dayspring Christian Community Development Corporation (DCCDC) is an extension of the Rhema Christian Center, which was founded in 1981. DCCDC has total assets of over $4.9 million and annual revenue of over $50,000. Their most recent project is the revitalization of 20 existing homes into like-new affordable homes. Community Housing Network

Community Housing Network (CHN) concentrates their assistance to people with addiction-related disabilities from emergency shelters to permanent housing. With a $600,000 loan from The Housing Trust, CHN collaborated with Amethyst, a local non-profit, to construct a 39-unit apartment building structured to provide an environment of sobriety maintenance. Community Development for All People

The Community Development for All People Corporation (CD4AP) is a faith-based, non-profit community development organization. With a $345,000 award from the United Way of Central Ohio, CD4AP and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, the Healthy Neighborhoods, Healthy Families (HNHF) Realty Collaborative will rehabilitate 30 units over 3 years. Community Development Collaborative of Greater Columbus

The Community Development Collaborative of Greater Columbus (The Collaborative) is an intermediary organization that provides grant, loan, and technical assistance support to the city's community development corporations (CDCs). The Collaborative has an annual budget of $1.5 million. CDCs assisted by The Collaborative include Homes on the Hill CDC (HOTH) with $900,000 to develop 6-10 houses in the Westland area. Argenta Community Development Corporation

Founded in 1992, the CDC has renovated more than 65 homes and buildings in downtown North Little Rock. The CDC currently manages 87 units of affordable apartment rentals, has won national awards for its historic preservation work, and provides homeownership counseling to over 400 families a year. Neighborhood Progress, Inc.

Neighborhood Progress is a regional organization that acts as a local intermediary, raising funds from corporate, foundation, and city sources and offering operating support and technical support to CDCs throughout the city. It currently provides $1.5 million per year to Cleveland CDCs, as well as up to $5 million per year in low-interest loans for neighborhood development. Famicos Foundation

Founded in 1969 in response to poverty and civil unrest, the Famicos Foundation has acquired, renovated, or constructed over 700 units of affordable housing. Cleveland Housing Network

Cleveland Housing Network, founded in 1981, is a coalition of 15 CDCs and 130 multi-cultural staff that develop affordable homes and provide training and counseling services to help Cleveland families escape poverty and build wealth. Woodlawn Community Development Corporation (WCDC)

Founded by the social service-focused nonprofit The Woodlawn Organization (TWO) to coordinate its real estate development and management activities, the Woodlawn Community Development Corporation (WCDC) has developed more than 2,000 units of single family and senior housing since its establishment in 1972.  WCDC also manages over 5,000 units of housing and relies on a holistic approach to ensure its residents are connected to essential educational and social services.
